Sahar Romani is the author of the forthcoming chapbook, The Opening, selected by Kazim Ali as a winner of the 2022 Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship. Her poems feature in the Academy of American Poets' Poem-a-Day series, the Brooklyn Rail, the Believer, Guernica, the Slowdown, Yale Review and elsewhere. Her work and art has been supported by the Asian American Writer's Workshop, Hedgebrook, Millay Arts, Poets House, and NYU, where she received her MFA in poetry. She teaches first-year writing at NYU and lives in Jackson Heights, Queens.
