Jasmine Freeman (they/she) is a writer and filmmaker from Danville, Virginia, currently based in Jersey City, NJ. Jasmine’s artistic voice reflects their intersection of being Black and Queer, exploring the subtleties, triumphs, challenges, and beauty of everyday life. Through their work, Jasmine seeks to create a space where these stories can thrive and be celebrated.

While at Rutgers University-Newark, Jasmine’s first film was accepted into the Newark International Film Festival as a writer and director. Since graduating, they have written two micro-documentary series, another short film and currently writing a web series highlighting the love of platonic soul mates.
